    DON'T BE AFRAID TO REFLECT, RE- EVALUATE & RE-WRITE YOUR GOALS

    Go down your list of wants and desires and start thinking about each goal and how they make you feel and whether or not they fit into your new and empowering vision for your life!

    Are they goals that are important to you as an individual or are they goals which are important to society and how other people view you?

    Don’t be afraid to cross off goals and move forward with a new vision for your life rather than holding onto old goals and desires that don’t really interest you anymore.

    Keep writing and re–writing your goals out and be brutally honest with yourself and your goals and desires!

    You want to have GOALS that inspire you and excite you to jump out of bed and make it REAL every single morning!

    WHAT’S YOUR WHY?

    Your WHY is what will give your Goals clarity, purpose and power. Start by asking yourself these four powerful questions:

    Q1. WHY DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL?

    Q2. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU?

    Q3. HOW WOULD IT MAKE YOU FEEL TO ACHIEVE THAT PARTICULAR GOAL?

    Q4. HOW WOULD IT CHANGE YOU AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL?

    ****If you don’t know WHY you want any particular goal, then maybe you need to cross it off your list because without a strong WHY you simply won’t have the drive to achieve it and make it real. Be honest with yourself about each of your goals!

Part of designing a blueprint for success in any area of life whether it's business, sport, education or your personal affairs is to develop and implement PROCESSES. Your daily habits, rituals and routines are ultimately processes for your life that help you to function & operate on a daily basis!

The quality of your life will always be a reflection of the quality of your routines, rituals and habits.... This is because it is what you do most of the time....what you practice most of the time!

If you're going to do great things and achieve your goals - Now is the time to start developing great daily routines, rituals and habits. NOW is the time to implement new and more effective habits & routines and replace the old one's that may have been holding you back with new and more empowering rituals!

LET’S GET TO WORK!

TRACK YOUR CURRENT HABITS

Your homework was to track your current habits!

Up to this point in your life you most probably haven’t taken the time to track your habits and work out where you are spending your time, efforts and energy on a daily basis!

Your performance is going to be dictated by your habits, routines and rituals and if you are ever going to achieve your goals and reach your true potential you are going to have to start running exceptional routines, every single day!

I know you might want to avoid tracking your habits and routines but to give you an idea of how important your habits and routines are it is the first place I start when I work one on one with anyone who wants to improve their life or their performance.

HOW TO TRACK YOUR HABITS

Use the notes section in your phone or get a small note pad & pen – carry it around with you all the time for a week.


Track everything from spending, eating, exercise, sleep and what you do all throughout the day...Yes even if you are doing nothing – TRACK IT!

• Track what you do every 30 minutes.

• Write down habits in your workbook at
the end of the day or week and see for yourself where you are spending your time and efforts.

AT THE END OF THE WEEK YOU WILL HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING ON THE FOLLOWING:

  • What you do each and every day.
  • When you do it.
  • Why you do what yo udo.
  •  How you do it

NOTE: There is no right or wrong when tracking your habits and routines. The main thing is to measure and understand what you are doing now, so you can make changes that will allow you to perform at a higher level in the future.

Now that you are totally aware of your current habits and the patterns you run it’s time to make some positive and empowering changes so you can start to perform at a higher level each and every day!

Create a list of all your current habits and routines you run and once you have put that together start working on the following:

  • Replacing your negative and unproductive habits with more positive habits.
  • Think about what you can do each day that will make you better, stronger, smarter!
  • Think about the type of person you must become to achieve your goals.

  • Think about what type of rituals and patterns you would run so that you can perform at your highest level!

Use the current habits vs. new habits work sheet to help you replace your less desirable habits with new and more empowering habits & daily rituals!

Obituary exercise.

Most people recoil and say 'ew' when I mention this exercise. 

 

But listen to this story: Alfred Nobel read his own obituary in the paper. The paper made a mistake. But he was horrified that he was listed as the "merchant of death" (he invented dynamite). He   immediately got to work changing that narrative. He dedicated a piece of his estate to establish what we know today as the Nobel Prize.

This is an important moment to recognize WHAT YOU WANT TO LEAVE BEHIND. How do you reverse engineer from there.

What would you start doing differently TODAY after writing out the answers to these questions:

  • What is your legacy?
  • What do you want to be remembered for?
  • What did you say 'no' to?
  • Who will miss you the most?
